Climate and landscape

The relief is varied due to the rainy climate (1100m annually), the rivers and the soil (limestones, crystaline schists) and includes mountain, piedmont and meadow areas. Valleys have an inclination of 10°–15° and are surrounded by ridges that reach 1300m: Padeş (1378m), Pădişel (1311m), Pascota (1348m), Ruscă (1359m).

The climate corresponds to a vertical relief, with a difference of altitude of over 1000m. Generally it is mentioned as medium high mountain climate. Temperatures reach +9 to +11°C in North (Tomeşti–Româneşti), +8° to +9°C in centre (Luncani), +4to +6°C in South (mountains)
