Climate and landscape
Mănăştiur territory is the plain of the Timiş river. The landscape is typical for meadows, such as Bega river meadow, oriented East to West, which lays from the vicinity of Coşava locality to Coşteiul. The surroundings of Topla are specific to high areas and come under Lipova hills, reaching an altitude of 300 m.
The area is crossed by a large hydrographic network including branches of Timiş river (Pădurani, Bunea,Remetea), with narrow beds that are dangerous in case of floods.
The climate is favourable to agriculture. The early springs are rainy and allow earlier sowing, summers are hot and dried, while autumns are long and winters mild.
To South-East the area is protected by Semenic Mountains, to East by Poiana Ruscă Mountains and to North-North-West by the hills of Lipova, being thus protected by cold winds but allowing the mediteranean winds through the plain. |
