History

The arheological discoveries proof that this territory was inhabited from early ages. Before hospodar Glad, the society is politically organized as ‘jupane’, hence the name of the village Jupani.

Sudriaş: The village was documentary attested in 1371 as Zederies. Kaposla Kythesth and Dragoyest villages were in the vicinity of Sudriaş in 16-17th centuries, but today they no longer exist.

Jupani: The locality was attested in 1446 when Iancu de Hunedoara makes an exchange with the king, offering Jupani and Bujor for Lipova and Şoimuş citadels. The King returns the villages to Iancu de Hunedoara in 1453, as a appreciation for his merits.

Susani: Attested in 1594 under the name of Zusany.

Traian Vuia: Mentioned in documents since 1364 as Bozsorgo. The village hearth moves to the present location in 1823.

Săceni: Named Zochien in documents from 1596.

Surducu Mic: Documentary attested in 1511 as Zwordok.
