Árpádhalom
It is situated 25 kilometres from Szentes, Between Nagymágocs and Gádoros, next to Mágocs-streamlet. It was an inhabited area even in the age of Árpád. Thanks for the Károlyi family, the most cultivated farmland and manor granary - designed by Miklós Ybl- were built in the area of the village. Other important buldings are: The Roman-Catholic wooden beamed church, which was built in 1910, and the castle, which was built on the request of Lady Count Lipót Berchtold. The monument of János Székács wheat-improver is located in this castle.
Another value of the settlement is that the path of the Lowland Blue Tour runs through it and the Wild-Farm of Árpádhalom National Hunting Society is stationed here, as well.
For those who like fishing, there is a fish-pond where people can go boating, too. |
